Xeams is a great little Java mail sever/gateway. I have been trialling it now for over a month as a replacement for my existing spam gateway and I’m impressed! It’s not perfect, it could use some more controls over handling of file attachments, but I can get postfix and amavis to do that before sending to Xeams. One gotcha I encountered was during the install, Xeams expects you to access the admin interface by going to http://localhost:5272 but what it you installed it remotely and have no access to a web browser?
What you need to do to get around this is to edit the hosts file on the machine Xeams is running on and enter the IP of the machine. Reboot and all should be fine..
